Hornet Inc & David Luepschen teamed up with our friends at Google to deliver this vibrant day-in-the life spot. The focus was on the craft, as seen through the symmetry of the hand-crafted sets and elaborate color schemes of each scene. Each set was built on a continuous track and slid in and out of frame by hand. The resulting spot is a beautifully organic and clean piece.

LudoSans is a handcrafted sans serif typeface.
Using the Strata-Cut technique, the characters move and change in colour and pattern
bringing a level of playfulness and fun, that is unique to the process.
Strata-Cut is a form of stop motion animation invented in the 20s
and 30s by Oskar Fischinger, refined in the 80s by David Daniels.
In this instance, the typeface is modeled out of multi coloured strands of plasticine
into a long length of ‘loaf’ that is sliced very thinly. Each slice is recorded by the camera,
and when the frames play sequentially, the typeforms organically evolve.
A collaboration with Janina Sitzmann
Four stop-motion clips were created for DK Books to promote Mary Berry's
new cookery book. They introduce the chapters and accompany video interviews of
Mary answering questions "#whatwouldmarydo … with eggs", sent in via Twitter.
The elements in the clips are made out of plasticine.

The Movember Foundation is the leading global organization committed to changing the face of men’s health. They achieve this by challenging men to grow moustaches during Movember (the month formerly known as November) to spark conversation and raise funds for prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health problems.
Movember Foundation aims to change this way of thinking by putting a fun twist on this serious issue.
Using the moustache as a catalyst, the idea is to bring about change and give men the opportunity
and confidence to learn and talk about their health and take action when needed.

MUSIC VIDEO / diploma thesis
The concept of the music video was to create a visual interpretation
of every single sound in the song (bassdrum, snare, hihat, vocals, etc.)
Each sound is associated with colour and movement.
The video was created using a mixture of stop-motion and realtime-video.
The elements are made out of cardboard and wood – supplemented by an animated vector graphic.
The video clips were created as part of my thesis at the
University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf in communication design.
